AMBROSE ENG

Story Development Coordinator, Director

Ambrose Eng is a filmmaker and storyteller whose journey began through an inherited passion for videography. A graduate in Performing Arts and Creativity, he is drawn to stories that challenge the mind and stir the heart—particularly in the genres of drama, psychological thriller, political fiction, fantasy, and sci-fi.

His creative works include Kumang (2023), a short film he co-wrote; and Wedding Stone (2024), a limited series he wrote and co-directed for TV Sarawak (TVS). In 2025, Ambrose directed Dreamweaver—a history-making musical in Borneo that celebrates cultural preservation through the traditional Sarawakian art of Songket weaving.

Ambrose also earned a place in Program One Step Closer 2024, a prestigious script development lab hosted by FINAS and mentored by a panel of internationally acclaimed filmmakers from across the region with the likes of Lorna Tee (Malaysia), Makbul Mubarak (Indonesia), Tan Si En (Singapore), Amanda Nell Eu (Malaysia), and Bradley Liew (Philippines). His in-development feature screenplay 'Never Worn' was selected, making him one of the few East Malaysian filmmakers in Malaysian film history to be chosen for the programme.

Currently, Ambrose serves as Story Development Coordinator at IAINWITHEYES Studios, where he continues to craft meaningful narratives with precision and purpose.
